HABITAT HOME #25
The weather has cooperated and we've had lots of terrific volunteers out to work on this Silver Anniversary house for Kerri and her family. Interior walls are up, exterior siding has started, the plywood and black paper are on the roof!
1) Land to build the next home on - We would be most appreciative of a donated building lot, or barring a donation, a lot we could afford. In trying to build a house that’s affordable for a low income family, we need to find land that does not substantially raise the selling price of the home. If you know of an available building lot, please email or call us at OCHFH@ochfh.org (672-5041). One of the Board members will call you back. Or call Adrianna Cowan at 672-1100.
2) Volunteers to do the work - Once we have land, we’ll need volunteers, both skilled and unskilled to help build this 25th house. If you are a plumber, an electrician, a heating & ac installer, an excavator, a roofer, a framer, a painter…or if you can hammer nails, put up siding, or you’re willing to learn, email or call us at OCHFH@ochfh.org (672-5041). We need you!
3) Construction Supervisor needed for next home- One of the most important jobs that need to be filled is that of construction supervisor. This person needs to have knowledge of house building & building codes, time to organize subs & schedule needed work & a willingness to help work with & teach volunteers who give their time to help Habitat for Humanity.
Without a construction supervisor, we cannot build a house. If this is a skill that you have, we ask you to consider working with us. You can help make a dream come true for a family that needs a home to call their own. Call us and join a team of willing volunteers who are making a difference in the lives of families here in Orange. Call Adrianna Cowan at 672-1100 or Cindy Reid at 672-3461.
HABITAT BUILDING FUNDS!!
Funds ($$$) are also needed to pay for building materials and for the land, if it is not donated. Your end-of year donations will help hurry a deserving family into a new permanent home and give you a nice income tax deduction. Please use the form on the last page of this newsletter and enclosed envelope for your donation. |
